An audacious pair of stories about the lives of young Canadian women, Boys With Cars is set in a suburban Canadian high school where cultures collide, women struggle for status, and dance raises the temperature of every moment. Adapted from the second and third parts of Anita’s acclaimed solo play, The Fish Eyes Trilogy, Boys With Cars was commissioned and produced by Nightswimming with additional support by Young People’s Theatre and The Banff Centre. It will premiere for teenage audiences at YPT in March 2017.
Boys With Cars has been developed and produced by Nightswimming with the superb creative team of designer Jackie Chau, lighting designer Rebecca Picherack, sound/projection designer Christopher Stanton, stage manager Sandy Plunkett, directed by Brian Quirt and produced by Leslie Haller.
Dance, theatre and social commentary combine with expert choreography, glittering costumes and a dark underbelly to reveal a different, and necessary side of the Canadian multi-cultural dialogue.
